Four pies filled with chunks of Longtown beef, slowly cooked in Loweswater Golden Ale and finished with a layer of caremalized onions, encased with our signature beef dripping pastry.

Ingredients: Diced beef, chicken stock (chicken bones, chicken wings, pigs' trotters, onions, thyme, water), Loweswater Gold Ale, water, carrots, celery, onions, tomato puree, plain flour, spices (black pepper, lovage root, coriander seeds, celery seeds), caremalized onions (butter, onions), beef dripping, eggs, salt.

Four roast chicken breast pies, cooked with thick chicken gravy and layers of truffled potatoes, encased in our signature beef dripping pastry.

Ingredients: Chicken breast, potatoes, chicken gravy (chicken stock (chicken bones, chicken wings, pigs' trotters, onions, thyme, water)), flour, tomato puree, lemon, thyme, dried ceps), onions, leeks, celery, butter, truffle oil, flour, beef dripping, eggs, salt.

Smooth mashed potato finished with double cream, whole milk and plenty of butter. Sweet and sour red cabbage, cooked quickly to retain its crunch. Proper gravy, finished with red wine, tomato puree and spoon of flour to thicken.

Four pies filled with minced lamb (from Pringle House in Ellonby) and peas, gently spiced with our own harissa blend, finished with plenty of fresh mint and encased in our signature beef dripping pastry.

Ingredients: Minced lamb, chicken stock (chicken bones, chicken wings, pigs' trotters, onions, thyme, water), peas, onions, water, harissa paste (coriander seeds, cumin seeds, caraway seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper, chilli, tomato puree, olive oil, salt, garlic), plain flour, fresh mint, beef dripping, eggs, salt.

Four pies filled with buttered leeks and steamed potatoes, bound in a thick Park House Cheddar cheese sauce, finished with fresh chives and encased in a shortcrust pastry.

Ingredients: Potatoes, leeks, cheddar cheese (Park House from Torpenhow), Lancashire cheese (Trusmador), milk, plain flour, butter, Dijon mustard, chives, water, eggs, salt.
We believe that (not all that long ago) food used to be made better, so we make all our pies using traditional methods, only using ingredients you can recognize.
This is something new and, for the moment, we are doing one delivery day every two weeks. Please check our next delivery day at the top of the home page before ordering.
